A Palace of Wonders to Explore

Pedrali at Salone del Mobile 2019

#PedraliPalaceofWonders at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2019

The 58th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano has just ended after having welcomed more than 386 thousand visitors from all over the world throughout six days.

On the occasion of Pedrali’s 31st participation, they presented 10 new collections, products which stand out for their original shapes made of metal and plastic materials, wood as well as upholstered.

The #PedraliPalaceofWonders, created by the studio Calvi Brambilla, is a refined and elegant space with a markedly architectural feel, characterized by a welcoming atmosphere.

Héra, the armchair designed by Patrick Jouin, embodies the concept of lightness, fusing it with that of comfort and cosiness. The key feature of this chair is wood – the ultimate natural raw material – which the renowned French designer chose to preserve by giving it an extremely refined, fluid form.

The new Folk collection of seatings, by CMP Design, is the key feature of the set depicting a library. The friendly feel of this chair, with the warmth of ash, the compact dimensions and soft, human lines seamlessly convey the idea of a chair that speaks a universal language.

The Jamaica collection by CMP Design was inspired by the famous Bar Jamaica in Milan’s Via Brera, a legendary hub for intellectuals and artists in the twentieth century. The Jamaica collection becomes an expression of creative sociability. It has a modernist design, yet looks to the past to reinterpret historic forms with a touch of humour. The combination of different materials such as wood, metal and upholstery exemplify Italian “knowhow”, one of Pedrali’s strong points.

The Buddy collection by Busetti Garuti Redaelli represents the ideal solution for furnishing a living area, possibly for a home, with its friendly and reassuring design. This year, the collection expands with a comfortable two or three-seater sofa. Thanks to a combination of four different densities of polyurethane foam and supportive elastic belts, the Buddy sofa is soft and very comfortable.

The two spaces dedicated to office furniture are delicately arranged, as though with a single brushstroke that defines their identity.

The meeting room is remarkable for its authoritative and elegant style that conveys solidity, alongside the furniture used within. The new Elinor table by Claudio Bellini echoes the soft, curving silhouette of the executive chair in the same collection, offering a new perception of space. The leather-covered base, formed of two moulded elements, enables a modular approach that allows a variety of arrangements, so as to create different aesthetic results.

Meanwhile, the flexibility of modern co-working spaces is represented by a setting that focuses on Temps, the executive chair by Jorge Pensi; and Arki-Table adjustable, with its height-adjustable worktop. Boxie, the modern storage system on wheels designed by Claudio Dondoli Marco Pocci, is both light and functional.

The almost fairy-tale atmosphere of the beautiful modern Mediterranean terrace is conjured by the fading light of the sunset on the horizon, creating a truly striking sense of depth. It is the ideal set for presenting Tribeca by CMP Design, which is inspired by the classic Sixties patio chairs made from steel and woven cord. The collection now gains two new lounge seating designs: an armchair and a two-seater sofa which are as fresh and dynamic as the other Tribeca pieces.

new aluminium version of Soul with a seat made from shaped teak slats, is an addition to Eugeni Quitllet’s successful collection; the armchair is presented in one of the two niches placed just beyond the monumental entryway. Soul Outdoor represents a development of the original bent wood version presented last year by the Catalan designer. It echoes the same inspiration and flowing lines, but is now made from curved aluminium tube.
