Far Flung Places

Italy. Asia. The Czech Republic. Our roving team of international buyers travel far and wide to these countries and more in their never ending hunt for the best in furniture design. Once a piece of new and original design has been found, the furniture is soon making its way to our shores. In a journey cruising over international waters in steel shipping containers and thundering down Australian highways in lengthy haulage trucks, they come for a temporary rest in their new home; our warehouses in Campbellfield, Victoria.

Band of Brothers

As these latest pieces of furniture arrive safe and sound, they are received by our team of full time employees. Headed by our warehouse manager and warehouse co-ordinator, our storemen and furniture assemblers run like clockwork with the logistical skills to give an army platoon a run for their money. To discover the individual staff members of our warehouse along with the rest of the James Richardson Furniture family, browse our team page. These workmen quickly load the furniture up onto one our 4,000 pallets and whisk them away to their latest resting place amongst our highly regarded and in-demand furniture.

Into the Maze

As the forklift truck heads for its designation, the items head past the thousands of pieces we have stocked including both locally manufactured and imported goods, such as Pedrali, Miniforms and Cantarutti from Italy and our long standing partner Ton from the Czech Republic. Navigating around this labyrinth of designs for the commercial sector, accommodation, hospitality and more could prove to be a headache for some, but not for our experienced workmen on the floor. With the layout imbedded in their minds, these newly arrived pieces of furniture are seamlessly entered into the flow of comings and goings, ready for their delivery to our latest buyers.

Load up the Trucks

When it’s time to leave the warehouse, this stock of James Richardson Furniture is in safe hands. With an average of 250-300 pieces sent nationally per day, our trusted drivers drive two of our very own delivery trucks locally in Victoria. Having two trucks means you know we’re not relying on just one truck and driver to get your furniture sent to you on time. For the rest of Australia, we have teamed up with professional delivery companies Hytech Transport in NSW, Service West & Hooton’s for QLD, SA’s Australis Removals and Grace Removals in WA. Companies we trust as if we were delivering it ourselves. Your new pieces of furniture arrive safe, secure and as smooth as the day they were made.

Warehouses for the Future

Trends will change, international shipping lanes may alter course and even our loyal truck drivers may one day retire, but the James Richardson Furniture warehouses are here to stay. A core part of our process, their legacy and that of the business are one and the same; a story from the past, a strength for today and an eye for tomorrow. And somewhere, tucked away in those 4,000 pallets of in-demand furniture and under an Indiana Jones hat, there might just be the treasure you’re looking for too.
