Keno Australasian Hospitality & Gaming Expo (AHG Expo)
Getting the right atmosphere for your hospitality, clubbing, or gaming venue is top of the agenda for the suppliers and proprietors at Queensland’s annual Keno Australasian Hospitality and Gaming Expo (AHG Expo). The James Richardson Furniture’s Queensland team were in their element as we talked to our clients about the importance of a beautiful design. There’s no contribution more vital than design when it comes to the feeling your customers have as they first walk into your premises.
Prioritising comfort and aesthetics, while introducing European innovation seamlessly into the Australian interior design landscape is the best way to create the perfect atmosphere modern patrons demand. Imagine you are the customer and you are looking for somewhere to relax and put the world of meetings and sales figures as far behind you as possible. You want a few drinks, some good food and maybe a punt. You need a space tailor-made for you in a local buzzing venue.
That was the prevailing attitude at this year’s AHG Expo, and it’s exactly the attitude that James Richardson understands best. So here’s our wrap-up of the Brisbane event in March 2016 and how Friday nights in Brisbane are taking shape.
What we brought to the table (besides some beautiful tables)
The AHG Expo is attended by key suppliers to Queensland’s affiliated clubs. It’s the go-to industry hub for gaming establishments, bars, clubs, restaurants, boutique breweries and anything in between.
It’s a vibrant, positive environment and it’s full of keen entrepreneurs looking for the creative edge that will take their business to the next level. Keeping this in mind, we brought our A-Game with us.
We pride ourselves on the carefully selected European aesthetic of our furniture. Beautiful, thoughtful designs are what we’ve helped make a staple of the Australian hospitality industry, and in our experience Queensland venues are particularly skilled at combining sophistication with a laid-back Australian approach to interior decorating.
The hot topic of the show was outdoor and alfresco dining, as clubs look to expand the dining and lounge experience they can offer their clients. Our furniture hit it big in this regard with venue-owners quick to appreciate the potential for creating an ideal indoor/outdoor flow using our carefully curated designs.
And what we took home with us
The positive, friendly nature of the industry and the sheer amount of people who were genuinely engaged and invested in creating the best possible in-house experience for their patrons was everything we expected and more.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a trade show without a decent amount of coffee and we quickly became familiar faces to the great guys and girls at the Nestle stand. Not to mention the long-lasting bond our team formed with the friendly staff at Newstead Breweries, who were more than happy to quench our thirst later on in the day.
But at the end of the day, it was all about the hospitality industry. Our core takeaway? The Queensland club scene couldn’t be in better health. There are some seriously high-calibre people at the helm, and the way they’re navigating current changes around alcohol consumption and opening hours is truly inspirational. Patrons come first above all else, and that’s a language we speak fluently.
The opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge designs to such a receptive audience was a true privilege for the entire James Richardson team, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year. See you again soon AHG Expo.
