Welcome to Milano! The team from James Richardson Furniture attended the prestigious Salone del Mobile exhibition in Milan, Italy. We joined our world-class supplier TON who were showcasing their Leaf range of designer chairs to the top industry figures from around the world. We posted a new video with insights from the event, inspiring designs and more. Scroll through each day from the event below and see this impressive international exhibit through our eyes.
What a day! It was a great start to the event with designers from around the world presenting some truly impressive pieces. Today we wanted to give you a sneak peek at the show-stopping TON Leaf range. If you like what you see, you don’t have to come all the way to Milan. Pop into one of our showrooms and see the range for yourself in the upcoming weeks. Here is the sneak preview:
Another great day here in Milan! Day 2 of the Salone del Mobile exhibition and we’re starting to see a definite trend appear – there is a distinct increase in soft furnishings, with colour and textures taking front and centre of design-thinking. As with other years, we’re also seeing more wood and less plastic. However, what’s really interesting is that when it comes to everything outdoors, wire designs, metal and rope are taking the event by storm.
In today’s video, we take you on a stroll around some of the exhibits. Join us as we take a peek at the new Pedrali models, Arki Table Bases, Babila Armchairs and more.
Don’t forget, there will be a new video live each day – we’ll be sharing the highlights of the event, giving you our take on what we’ve learned, and more. See you again tomorrow!
Welcome back! Day three has just wrapped up here in Milan and the Salone del Mobile exhibition continues to impress. It’s a continual surprise to us that just when you think you’ve seen the very best designs, something else comes along and completely changes what you thought was possible. Today we were captivated by the boundary-pushing work of Miniforms and their new ceramic lamp – it’s a perfect marriage of vision, craftsmanship and minimalist materials. We can’t wait to bring similar innovation back to Australian shores.
Check out today’s video for our full insights into day three of Salone del Mobile – you won’t be disappointed!
And that’s a wrap. The core tenet of Salone del Mobile is that “detail makes the difference”, and that couldn’t be more true. We saw a lot of incredible, original designs over the course of the event and no two were the same. But the common trait shared by each and every design was an unrestrained dedication to perfecting the smallest details – from finishes to thread-work and everything in between. The designers who attend Salone del Mobile are truly world-class: they’re the peak of their profession, and that attention to detail is the reason. A flawless design must be flawless at every level.
Beyond all else, we’re excited to bring some of these awe-inspiring new designs back home to Australia. There are going to be some fantastic new additions to our showroom over the coming months as a result, and that’s great news for your decor.
Thanks for joining us each day as we shared the highlights from this fantastic event – we hope you gained us much from the new designs, new ideas and new trends as we did.
